Decorative animal figures by Front Design
With their Resting Animals series, the duo from Front Design has dealt with the connection between people and decorative figures. For their work, the two designers randomly interviewed selected people about their favourite, emotionally most enriching objects. It was noticeable that most of the answers related to animal figures, which are often connected with a special, personal story. Already in earlier works Front Design deals with animal figures for different purposes.
The Resting Animals series for Vitra now includes a group of sleeping animal figures whose resting positions radiate comfort and harmony. The largest figure in the series is a bear wrapped in knitted fabric, which can be used as a stool or footrest due to its shape and size. Two smaller figures - a cat and two birds of different sizes - are made of ceramic. Thanks to their soft silhouette and relaxed posture, they convey a feeling of satisfaction that will hopefully be passed on to their owners.
