Marimekko Tableware in Our Online Shop
Cryptic names, such as Unikko, Siirtolapuutarha, Tasaraita and Kaiku, refer to the colourful collections of Marimekko. The words are Finnish and stand for "Poppy", "Little Garden" or "Echo". They describe the concise graphical forms, which adorn carafes, plates and dishtowels – legendary print patterns that are irrevocably associated with the Marimekko brand and its creators, worldwide.
The Unikko pattern by Maija Isola is the best-known motif: colourful flowers on a white background. Unikko stands for summer, sun and good mood – and it’s just as trendy today as it was back in 1964. The floral objects bring colour and vibrancy to the kitchen. The iconic Räsymatto pattern of the Siirtolapuutarha Collection focuses on a black-and-white contrast. It was created by Maija Louekari, while Sami Ruotsalainen designed the simple clean shape of the tableware collection called Oiva.
Quality Tableware for Everyday Use
The Finnish company manufactures its dishes from ceramic, stoneware or glass. Most objects are microwave-safe, oven- and dishwasher-proof, and therefore perfectly suitable for everyday use.
Individual items from the Marimekko collections appear even more beautiful when they are combined. The interaction of different characters with the same patterns has been a personal objective of the designers from the beginning.
