Finnish designer duo Juslin Maunula

Juslin Maunula was founded in 2016 by fashion designer Laura Juslin and architect Lilli Maunula. Since then, the mix of fashion expertise and architectural vision has created a unique space that functions as both a design studio and the designers' distinctive brand, reviving once-forgotten materials.

The Juslin Maunula brand is characterized by its focus on reusing discarded textiles and transforming them into home products, wearable items and installations. Her creative journey involves sourcing unsold, surplus rolls from decades past to highlight the beauty of these overlooked materials.

Juslin Maunula's approach is characterized by an intelligent use of materials and a great willingness to experiment. Each product is designed by Laura and Lilli in Helsinki, driven by their passion for colors and textures. Produced in limited series, the products are carefully crafted by experienced seamstresses in the EU.

Working with random batches of surplus textiles brings an element of chance to the process. The availability of each product depends on the size of the textile batch and new items are released as drops as they are designed.

As a design studio, Juslin Maunula has collaborated with renowned Finnish and international brands such as Marimekko, Artek and Kalevala Koru, gaining much attention and recognition. In 2022, Juslin Maunula was named Finland's Young Designer of the Year and included in DEZEEN's longlist of 20 up-and-coming design studios. The studio also gained global recognition when it was named one of the six best emerging design studios in the world by D la Repubblica magazine in 2023.
