Traditional Swedish furniture

In 1895, the Lindqvist family began manufacturing horseshoes in Grythyttan, Sweden. Artur Lindqvist later took over the family business from his father Karl. However, Artur had a vision that went beyond traditional blacksmithing. He was enthusiastic about the principles of functionalism and wanted to create everyday objects that were both functional and aesthetically pleasing. For the 1930 Stockholm Exhibition, Artur designed and produced the A2 cantilever chair made of spring steel, which is now considered a classic. The A2 chair was followed by a complete garden furniture collection.

In the 1940s and 50s, Grythyttan Stålmöbler became increasingly well-known and popular. The furniture became the epitome of summer and vacation. Many Swedes have already sat on an A2 in their grandparents' garden.

Craftsmanship and quality

All furniture is characterized by its high-quality craftsmanship. The blacksmiths work with the utmost care, precision and a gentle hand to keep the heritage and history of Grythyttan Stålmöbler alive.

The furniture is made from high-quality spring steel. The secret of the characteristic rocking of the swinging chairs lies in their base. Production takes place in the factory in Grythyttan and cannot be automated: A perfect result requires good intuition and a lot of experience.
