Henning Koppel embodies Danish design according to Georg Jensen. The manufacturer and the designer are a symbiosis searching for equals with their Koppel Collection.
The designs of Henning Koppel fascinate with their pure lines and their warmth – a sign of real masterwork. Koppel’s designs renounce strict rules of functionalism with organic, vivid looking shapes.
Henning Koppel already worked for Georg Jensen in 1946. The trained sculptor fell in love with arts as a child, so that he always included artistic influences in his designs. His first works already were small masterpieces of marvellous shapes.
When Henning Koppel passed by aged 63 in 1981, his work was considered to be unique: he designed cutlery and precious unique pieces. Henning Koppel was honoured with numerous awards, including the International Design Award and an award of the Milan Triennial. The attraction of the Danish is unbroken and wonderfully expressed in the Koppel Collection of Georg Jensen.
