Tias Eckhoff is one of the most versatile designers of Norway. His design creations were also responsible for the development of the concept of “Scandinavian Design” and he was moreover a pioneer for industrial shaping.
Tias Eckhoff graduated at the Norwegian Estate University for Applied Arts in 1945 with a diploma in Ceramic Arts.
He created the first cutlery series for Norstaal in 1962 “Maya”, after a demand from Finn Henriksen, owner of and founder of Norstaals at that time.
