Danish design with a strong concept
Thomas E. Alken graduated from the Copenhagen Design School in 1997 and continued his education at the Helsinki University of Art and Design.
In 1997 Alken opened his own design studio in Copenhagen. He has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cabinetmakers Autumn Exhibition since 2005 and a member of the Danish Designer Advisory Committee since 2007. In 2009, the Dane also became a member of the Danmarks Designskole school board in Copenhagen.
Thomas E. Alken still has his own design studio in Copenhagen city center, very close to the beautiful botanical garden. His studio mainly deals with furniture and product design as well as design advice for Danish and international customers. Alken describes his design studio as small but passionate with broad know-how and great ambitions.
