Simon Legald graduated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in summer of 2012. The Danish works at large as well as at small products.
“Honesty is what makes a product understandable, and what described its functionality. If one understands the product, there is no need to explain further on. The essence of my design is to be sold and also used. Therefore it won’t do with only functional aspects, but also psychological and aesthetic demands should be fulfilled.
Simplicity describes the real identity of objects for me and it makes them reliable. I try to save my designs from unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by emphasizing the utility instead of hiding it. This offers a simple and honest expression to a product.”
