New Danish Design
Lasse Sortkjaer is a Danish designer who has his roots in the construction industry.
He enjoyed building things that could last for decades. However, he also found himself building things that could not stand by from an aesthetical point of view. For this reason, the Dane decided in 2011 to start studying again in order to become a furniture designer.
In his work as a designer, he uses the experience gained in the construction industry in terms of materials and production techniques, which now help him to create innovative design with high functionality. However, training as a furniture designer does not mean neglecting other design areas.
Lasse Sortkjaer therefore works interdisciplinary and deals with architecture, furniture, accessories and luminaires alike, which all carry his expressive style.
