The business partners Poul Christiansen and Boris Berlin founded the design studio Komplot Design in 1987 in Copenhagen.
Poul Christiansen was born in Copenhagen in 1947 and studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts there in the Architecture subject.
Boris Berlin was born in Leningrad in 1953 and finished his Industrial and Graphic Design studies at the Institute of Applied Arts and Design (Leningrad).
Besides the Good Design Award (Japan) in 1991, Komplot Design also won the Danish Design Prize, the Red Dot Award and many other national and international awards.
Komplot Design works in industrial-, furniture- and graphic design areas for international manufacturers like the Brunner GmbH (Germany), Fora form (Norway), Trend Co. Ltd. (Japan) or Normann Copenhagen (Denmark), to name just a few.
The Komplot Design philosophy says that good design doesn’t only essentially look at the so calles “functional problem solutions”, it is also a creation of messages that fill an object and concept with cultural, philosophic, aesthetic and poetic meaning.
