Japanese design
The Issey Miyake Studio was founded in 1970 by the eponymous fashion designer Issey Miyake. Since those days Miyake designs garments that question the preconceived idea of design with the combination of technological and traditional artistic techniques.
The idea behind the design is connected with the aim to design things that give pleasure, but also provide excitement and comfort in everyday life.
In addition to fashion, the Issey Miyake Design Studio collaborated with the Finnish company Iittala for the Iittala X Issey Miyake Collection, for which the Japanese design studio designed timeless and by the Japanese origami culture inspired home textiles, ceramics and accessories.
