Pioneers of the Danish Furniture Art of the 1950s
Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen (1907-1993) and Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) were two architects who founded the architect's office Hvidt & Mølgaard. Together, Hvidt & Mølgaard have designed furniture and room facilities, designed buildings and taken over advisory tasks for large bridge installations.
They did pioneering work for the industrial production of furniture and for Danish furniture art in the 1950s. Their architectural style is bright, clear and simple. The buildings are well thought out in detail and the furnishings and decor carry the signature of the architects.
