Hans Hansen is designer and name-giver of the Hans Hansen Furniture GmbH. Already in the 70s Hans Hansen set accents with his Bauhaus-Tradition committed designs. It were mainly multifunctional furniture pieces out of chromed or powder coated steel. Some of the designs, such as the Cactus Wardrobe, fast became modern classics and best-sellers.
Hans Hansen produces his furniture exceptionally in Germany. His company, the Hans Hansen Furniture GmbH, meanwhile became a pure family company. Hans Hansen and his daughter Gesa Hansen divided the art direction and product design area. His daughter studied at the Bauhaus University and worked in the ateliers of Jean Nuveau in Paris and then for the NDC in Tokyo as designer, until she founded her own design studio in Paris.
