Form Design Award
About the Form Design Award
The FORM Design Prize is awarded annually by the Bundesverband Kunsthandwerk e.V. (Federal Association of Arts and Crafts) and builds a bridge between arts and crafts, industry and design. The products selected from the overall range at the fair are distinguished by innovative design solutions, material selection and processing appropriate to the product, functionality in the case of utility objects and a convincing overall concept. More than 90 companies from around 15 countries now take part in the competition, and the trend is upwards.
The jury is made up of design specialists from the fields of teaching and arts and crafts, who award the coveted certificates.
Historic Award
The FORM Design Prize looks back on a long history. The roots of the competition lie in the 1950s and 1960s, in the exhibitions "Die Gute Form " and "Sonderschau formschöner Industrieerzeugnisse" in Frankfurt. Since the 1970s, the Bundesverband Kunsthandwerk e.V. has been organising the FORM -design prize.
This coveted prize is awarded annually at the Tendence trade fair in Frankfurt. There the exhibition of the FORM competition, where visitors can discover the new trends and get in touch with the designers.
