The Crate Lounge Chair from Hay is one of the classics that has been reissued. The Crate collection by Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld was created in 1934. The aim was to use surplus wooden crates for transportation. The Crate Lounge Chair was produced with a strong focus on the original design and has the same extremely precisely balanced proportions. The transparent construction allows for an optimized assembly process. The low elements, the gently sloping backrest and the seat with the supporting armrests lend the chair its simplicity. Crate Lounge Chair offers comfort without taking up too much space. It is made of solid pine wood and thanks to its water-based lacquer finish, the lounge chair can be used both indoors and outdoors.
