Furnace and fireplace combined
Weltevree's outdoor steel stove was designed by Dick van Hoff, who one evening sat between a barbecue and a fire basket and thought: "These two things can also be combined.
"I found it more than logical to combine the pleasant with the useful. The Outdooroven was born out of the need to do more with fire than just make fire." says van Hoff.
The Dutchman created a multifunctional outdoor oven that serves as both a source of heat and a place to prepare food. The Outdoor Stahlofen supports the aspect of dining together and being together in comfort.
The stove is heated with the help of wood, which burns openly and serves as a cosy source of fire on warm summer evenings or cold winter days. A perforated panel ensures sufficient oxygen supply for the fire.
When the wood has turned to coal after some time, the stove can be used as a grill. For this purpose, the stainless steel grate is placed at the desired height so that meat and vegetables can be easily prepared. Pizza or bread can also be baked on the corresponding stone over the fire. The fire must burn for about 30 minutes before the oven and pizza stone are ready for use.
The surface of the oven is also heated by even distribution of heat, so that food can be kept warm in pots and pans for a long time.
Note: After some time the outdoor oven changes colour due to the protective oxidation process of Corten steel. This is not a defect, but a natural property of the material.
