Wall lamp for indoors and outdoors
The discreet, classic design of Toldbod 155 was designed by Poul Henningsen and was originally the design for a street lamp in Copenhagen. Thanks to this design clarity, the Toldbod 155 wall lamp adapts to different living areas, while the luminaire can also be easily installed in protected outdoor areas.
Wall lighting with diffuser
Toldbod 155 is a luminaire whose design is based on the PH elliptical reflector. In this way, the wall lamp from Louis Poulsen gives a glare-free, downward light. The white interior paint of the Toldbod wall lamp ensures good reflection and thus efficient light output.
The lampshade made of aluminum is available in different variants. Thanks to the IP44 protection class, the wall lamp can be mounted on the wall of the house both as a reading lamp next to the bed and as lighting on the terrace or in the entrance area. Equipped with an E14 base, the lamp can be equipped with different bulbs as needed, so that light color and brightness can be determined individually - depending on the area of application.
Architecture and light: Poul Hennigsen
Poul Henningsen was born in Copenhagen, the son of the famous Danish actress Agnes Henningsen. He did not graduate as an architect, but studied at the Frederiksberg Technical School from 1911-1914 and then at the Technical College in Copenhagen from 1914-17. He also began to apply traditional functionalist architecture. However, his professional interest soon focused mainly on lighting design - and that is what he is famous for.
