Design lamp from the 40s

The VL38 table lamp was originally designed by architect Vilhelm Lauritzen together with Louis Poulsen for the new construction of the Danish Broadcasting Building. As a new edition, the iconic design from 1938 is now available again.

Based on the original designs from the 1940s, the lamp is made with an aluminum shade and base and a brass standpipe.
The combination of white and brass combines classic and timeless elements, allowing the lamp to be harmoniously integrated into different living areas.

Glare-free LED luminaire

Like all luminaires of the VL series from Louis Poulsen , the table lamp has a movable joint, which allows the glare-free light to be easily adjusted if necessary.

Equipped with the latest LED technology, the table lamp by Vilhelm Lauritzen is available in different versions as: Table, floor or wall lamp available.

Danish functionalism: Vilhelm Lauritzen

Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894-1984) is one of the most important Danish architects and a pioneering representative of Danish functionalism. Many of his buildings such as the Nørrebro Teater (1931-1932), the Daells Varehus department store (1928-1935), the Radiohuset broadcasting house (1936-1941), and Copenhagen's first airport (1937-1939) represent the essence of the modern world. Other significant buildings designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen include Vega (1953-1956), formerly the House of the People, now used for concert events, Shell House (1950-1951), and the Danish Embassy in Washington (1958-1960). Above all, the listed Radio House and the terminal of the old Copenhagen Airport are considered unique monuments of modernism in European architecture.
