The PH 2/1 table lamp is part of the 2/1 family from Louis Poulsen , which already includes a chandelier, a pendant and a wall lamp. The lamp was designed by Poul Henningsen, whose initials form the name of the lamp.

The small PH 2/1 table lamp was designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system that directs most of the light downwards. The three shades are made of mouth-blown opalized three-layer glass by Louis Poulsen . The shades are glossy on the inside and sandblasted on the outside, resulting in a soft and diffuse light distribution. The base is optionally available in drawn aluminium in high-gloss chrome-plated, brass or black metallized. The textile cable is black.

Thanks to its small size, the PH 2/1 table lamp offers excellent placement options in rooms where small points of light are to be created to create a pleasant atmosphere and emphasize the dimensions of the room.

Architecture and light: Poul Hennigsen

Poul Henningsen was born in Copenhagen, the son of the famous Danish actress Agnes Henningsen. He did not graduate as an architect, but studied at the Frederiksberg Technical School from 1911-1914 and then at the Technical College in Copenhagen from 1914-17. He also began to apply traditional functionalist architecture. However, his professional interest soon focused mainly on lighting design - and that is what he is famous for.
