The Nelson Ball Bubble Pendant Light by Hay is a 194-year 7. design by designer George Nelson. Nelson was looking for lighting for his office at the time and was inspired by a range of satin Swedish pendant lights. But since the price for the lamps was too high for him, he decided to create some himself. For his design he made a steel wire frame and used a plastic spray developed by the US military. This lay like a cocoon over the frame, creating a uniquely light and elegant look. The lamp went into series production and is still manufactured today in the same factory as then.
The light shines gently through the thin-walled polymer and ensures pleasant, glare-free light in the room. Above the dining table or desk, the luminaire can be arranged individually or in several stylish ways. George Nelson made several forms of the lamp, which can also be wonderfully combined with each other.
