The Italian company Artemide has been producing the well-known Tolomeo lamp by the designers Giancarlo Fassina and Michele de Lucchi since 1987. Tolomeo Mega Terra is a floor lamp with a large lamp head that can be adjusted in all directions using a spring compensation system.

With Tolomeo, Giancarlo Fassina and Michele de Lucchi succeeded in creating a trend-setting and extremely successful design of a desk lamp that can now be found on the tables of countless architectural offices and agencies. For the Mega Terra floor lamp, the design has been proportionally enlarged. In 2003 the Tolomeo Mega Terra received the red dot design award for its qualities.

Thanks to the subdivided luminaire body and the spring compensation system on the luminaire head, the light of the Mega Terra floor lamp can be precisely aligned as required. The base and the adjustable arms of the Tolomeo Mega Terra floor lamp are made of shiny aluminum, the joints of polished aluminum.

The lampshade is available in other sizes and made of parchment paper or silk satin.
