History of the Danish Hoptimist en
In the late 1960s, Gustav Ehrenreich founded the cheerful Hoptimist en movement, inspired by his strong belief in the power of smiles. His aim was to create a figure that would always remind us to stay positive and optimistic. Even though the 1960s are often referred to as "the happy 60s", they were characterized by unrest. Ehrenreich's design offered a welcome source of joy during this turbulent time.
Bimble and Bumble were the first Hoptimist s the designer created: a girl in a dress with smiling eyes and an attentive boy with a split hairdo. Today, the happy Hoptimist s are part of Danish design history and bring joy worldwide.
