Revolutionized in 1959 mono A the tables of this world. Dispensing with all the design elements that were otherwise part of the lavish decoration of place settings was a milestone on the way to the modern, industrial design of everyday objects.
Designed by Prof. Peter Raacke, the mono A cutlery was initially stamped from a single piece of stainless steel, a so-called monobloc, hence the striking, industrial-looking name. Today, the knife is made of two types of steel: the handle is made of stainless steel, the blade of high-quality hardened steel.
What was considered avant-garde in 1959 has now become a classic of table culture, because mono A combines elegant design with the highest quality workmanship.
Numerous awards and exhibitions at home and abroad have made the mono A made the cutlery famous. Today, it is regarded as the best-selling German designer cutlery of the post-war period.
