The architect Mario Trimarchi was inspired by the eponymous volcanic stones of his Sicilian hometown for the design of the Ossidiana espresso machine.
Detailed research concerning the combination of the sculpture and the design finally led to an object which represents a new ergonomic approach: it fits perfectly into the hand and it is easy to open and close. A product which knowingly bases its form on a prehistoric stone, one of the first tools humans used.
The designer Mario Trimarchi goes back to the roots (of coffee culture) with the espresso machine Ossidiana. The sculptural espresso maker made of high-quality cast aluminium is available in different sizes and thereby allows the production of 1, 3, or 6 cups of espresso.
The Ossidiana espresso maker for exceptional coffee enjoyment. Awarded the reddot award in 2015.
