The duck is now slim: In 1952, designed Henning Koppel for the legendary Danish silver smithy Georg Jensen designed a serving jug (with the No.1044) whose shape was reminiscent of a fat duck. Consequently, it became popular under the name "The pregnant duck" and was soon considered an absolute design classic.
In 1965, Koppel obviously let himself be influenced in the design of the Henning Koppel jug influenced by himself - even though the duck has become considerably slimmer, making it appear even more sublime than the model. The design of the carafe from Georg Jensen breathes pure pride.
Available in a variety of sizes, the elegant carafe from Georg Jensen is suitable both for pouring and serving beverages such as wine or water, or as a decorative vase for flower arrangements. In any case, the elegant jug is a welcome guest on the table.
The company Georg Jensen resurrects the chic piece, originally designed in silver, now in stainless steel together with other works of the Danish design icon. The Henning Koppel jug impressively underscores why the Objekte Henning Koppel s, with their mirror-smooth polished surfaces and asymmetrical lines, became the epitome of post-war Scandinavian design. This style, known as the New Look, is still popular today.
