The clothes horse Mama was designed by the fpm Munich agency for side by side. Once it is in your flat you won’t be able to do without it. Mama has numerous clothes lines spread over three areas and a rustic look. After use, the clothes horse can be folded up and put away to save space.
The Caritas (a charitable organisation) Wendelstein workshops in Rosenheim/Raublin are responsible for producing the Mama clothes horses. The design by the fpm München agency is realised there using solid, untreated ash. Reinforced plastic lines are used to hang the clothes on.
The German company side by side stands for close cooperation between designers and people with learning difficulties, exactly “side by side”. “Design with social character” was founded by the product designer Sabine Meyer in 2002 and introduced on the market with the Caritas Wendelstein workshops. In the meantime more than 30 designers, including the numerous prize-winning fpm agency Munich, create high-quality and stylish living accessories for everyday use. That is how side by side enables social integration for people with learning difficulties as well as participation in professional work.
