If you want to design seat cushions for selected chair classics of the 20th century, then there is no way around the legendary Ant chair by Arne Jacobsen. The chair appeared for the first time in 1952 with Fritz Hansen and, after a few complications, became one of the highlights of the exclusive Danish furniture manufacturer.
It was therefore only logical that the German company Hey Sign would design—on top of those developed for Fritz Hansen and Vitra classics—a beautiful felt cushion for the Ant, which in its minimal expression meets the high design requirements. For added comfort, the anti-slip coating ensures that the cushion stays put.
The advantages of the material, which is renewable and thus extremely environmentally friendly, have long been known to Hey Sign. Since 1999, the company from Meerbusch has been working with felt, creating a chic collection that is steadily growing.
All the felt products as well as other products by Hey Sign are "Made in Germany", and the final manufacturing process is even "handmade". The used felt is 100% pure wool without any chemicals or recycled textiles, which is documented by the well-known wool seal. Hey Sign is the first and only felt manufacturer whose products have been certified according to the strict guidelines of The Woolmark Company.
Hey Sign offers the felt pads with and without anti-slip coating as well as in many different colors. In addition, double pads (two seat pads sewn together) are available with and without filler material.
