The Re-Rug carpet from the Spanish company Nanimarquina is based on the idea of a supplier of the manufacturer collected wool scraps to make a carpet. Re-Rug Is the result of the research process to recover wool to produce a yarn suitable for weaving. 1 kg/m2 of recycled wool is used for the Re-Rug processed. Nanimarquina s carpet contributes to the reduction of uncontrolled waste and CO2 emissions, as no new material needs to be manufactured for production.
The hallmarks of the Re-Rug -collection are the irregularities and richness of colors of the wool scraps. It is also made using the hand-woven Dhurrie technique, which creates carpets with a flat structure. In order to ensure maximum strength and quality, the structural part (warp) of the Re-Rug the structural part (warp) of the carpet is made of New Zealand virgin wool. The weft is made of marbled recycled yarn in different thicknesses and colors.
The result is a collection with different variants of the Re-Rug, which are made of 50% virgin wool and 50% recycled wool.
