Woven recycled carpet
The Braid Carpet by Karin An Rijlaarsdam for Kvadrat is a simple eye-catcher in the living area with its organic look. The rug is made of 88% recycled polyester and 12% polyester. The irregular surface is inspired by weaving techniques, traditional craftsmanship and the nature of Gran-Bassam (Ivory Coast) - the designer's home. Rijlaarsdam's focus is on Braid on a sustainable design and production process, making it the first recycled rug in the Danish manufacturer's range. Braid is woven from ropes - as the name suggests - attached to a spiral and then sewn down. During the production of the carpet is generated hardly any production waste due to the special sewing technique.
