Maija Isola was inspired by the movements of water during her travels in Greece in the early 1960s. Seireeni (In German: Sirene) dates from 1964 and is based on the sirens of Greek mythology. Accordingly, the pattern recalls the enchanting song, which lured sailors into dangerous waters.
