Artek's Riihitie plant pot was designed by Aino Aalto and presented for the first time at the Artek stand at the 1937 Paris World Fair. Even then, the perfectly shaped plant container attracted attention, but was never produced in series.
On the occasion of Finland's centenary celebrations, Artek presents the cachepot in its two original forms. The organically shaped plant pots are handcrafted from ceramic. The new edition of Artek is suitable for indoor use and is available in various colours. For the colours, Artek was inspired by tile works by Aino Aalto, which can be found in their houses. Available in three sizes, they are ideal for small flowers and lush plants and are easy to combine.
Aino Aalto designed the pots for the terrace of her house on Riihitie Street in Helsinki, where Aalto lived with his family until her death. Today it is a museum and the pots can still be admired on the terrace.
