The Panton Chair is a design icon of the 20th century. The Miniatures Panton Chair matches the historic original from the Vitra Design Museum collection in construction, material and colour, right up to the smallest detail - all in a 1:6 scale.
Verner Panton’s cantilever chair is the most consistent expression of a design concept, which wants to realise an object with a flowing shape from a single material. The Panton Chair was brought onto the market in the 1960s. Its undisputed status as a classic of modern furniture design has earned it a place in Vitra’s Miniatures Collection.
The miniature version of the Panton Chair is a faithful imitation and consists entirely of dyed-thorough polypropylene. Thanks to this faithfulness to the original, the Miniatures by Vitra are not only valuable collector’s objects, but also ideal illustrative material for universities, design schools and architects.
The Miniatures Collection from Vitra is unique worldwide. The company has signed a licence agreement for every one of the Miniatures with either the designer or their heirs. In many cases Vitra even works together directly with the designer to get as close as possible to the original.
