Charles and Ray Eames enriched the furnishings in the Eames House with numerous objects they brought back from their travels. A wooden bird figurine has stood in the center of the living room for over fifty years. Obviously a piece of American folk art particularly appreciated by Charles and Ray, it can be found in many photos of the designer couple.
The bird originated in the Appalachian mountain region of the northeastern United States. Based on the original and in collaboration with the Eames family, Vitra produces the decorative figure in series.
The Eames House Bird is available in different variants.
