Table made of circular plates
The Sangaku side table is a fun game of intersections, rotations and dimensional changes. In the Japanese culture Sangaku geometric problems engraved on wooden panels.
Inspired by the circles and ellipses from the game, Elena Salmistraro was tempted to create the design: Four different circles, two with a radius of 40 cm and two with a radius of 20 cm, are written in an imaginary circle of 50 cm, creating a new element dominated by invisible yet perceptible geometric relationships. The intersections between the different elements become the legs that support the four different surfaces.
