Light Stool Made of Corrugated Cardboard
The Wiggle Stool by Vitra is a typical design object by architect Frank O. Gehry. Just like the wavy Wiggle Side Chair, the eponymous stool is made of light yet sturdy corrugated cardboard. Thus, the stool is not just a flexible seat that can be easily adjusted, but is also a special design object with natural charm.
Cardboard Furniture
Gehry got the idea of producing seats from cardboard when thinking of his architectural models: “One day in my office, I was looking at a pile of corrugated cardboard – the material I use for building architectural models – and I started playing around with it, gluing it, sawing it and cutting it with a pocket knife.”
Contrary to the light impression of the stool, it is particularly stable due to its special construction and wavy shape.
