The Woody sideboard from HAY is the little brother of the Woody shelf. It has the same design and the same qualities as the shelf, but in the dimensions of a chest of drawers.
Woody is the modern interpretation of the shelving system inspired by a traditional ladder. With no obvious front or back, it is equally suitable as a free-standing piece of furniture or placed against a wall. The furniture from HAY follows the idea that shelves and sideboards should not be too visually dominant, leaving space for the objects that are placed inside.
Woody clearly carries the spirit of modernity. It dispenses with superfluous frills and the details of the construction are not hidden. The sideboard from HAY is made exclusively from oak, wooden rods, steel and screws. The treated oak gives the shelf a traditional Scandinavian look, which is renewed and contrasted by the steel shelf inserts.
This creates a beautiful combination of tradition and modernity, of simplicity, modernity and playfulness. Typical of the Danish design company HAY and its exclusive collection - because the fact that contemporary Scandinavian designers can revive the tradition of the fifties and sixties is one of the convictions of Rolf HAY, who launched his company on the market in 2003 and quickly established it.
