The Utzon stool was created in parallel with the construction of the Sydney Opera House. Utzon inspiration from nature and maritime elements from his childhood. The rounded shapes of the seven smooth seat elements are reminiscent of the bollards and fenders of the harbors of his youth, and the use of brass as a material also refers to maritime motifs.
