Plastic Armchair with rollable five-star base frame
With its 5-star base, PACC turns the Plastic Armchair into an office swivel chair. The organically shaped seat shell of the Plastic Armchair has been combined with different bases since the 1950s and has been produced millions of times. Made of polypropylene, the armchairs today offer even better seating comfort.
From 2024, all seat shells of the Eames Plastic Chairs from Vitra will be made from recycled post-consumer plastic from the German household waste collection "Der Gelbe Sack". Exception: the color white 04 will be made from the previous material until the end of 2024.
The PACC armchair is a variant of the Eames Plastic Chair, which was designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1948 and was the first industrially manufactured chair. PACC (Pivot Armchair Cast Base on Castors) is the office swivel chair in the series.
In order not to distract from the formally expressive, organically shaped shell, Vitra has opted for a new type of height adjustment for the PACC armchair, which is discreetly positioned under the seat shell.
To adjust the seat height, press the release slide under the seat in the direction of the chair leg. You can press on both the left and right side. This allows you to adjust the height of the chair by taking the weight off the seat or putting weight on it. When the seat height is ideally adjusted, the upper and lower legs form an angle of 90° and your feet are flat on the floor.
The Plastic Armchair PACC is also available in other colors. The PACC can also be ordered with a seat cushion.
