Comfortable lounge chair with hygge
The Hyg lounge chair by Normann Copenhagen was designed by Simon Legald and is named Hygge after the Danish way of life. Untranslatable and difficult to define, Hygge is all about having a good time. Candlelight, a hot tea and a cuddly blanket on cold days but also the cosy get-together on a warm summer night in your own garden radiate the Hygge feeling of the Danes, which Legald wanted to include in his Hyg series. With Hyg, Simon Legald has designed a series that looks like a warm, hearty embrace, in which gentle lines and enveloping contours create an intimate and cosy space.
"My source of inspiration for Hyg was to create a space within a space that gives a feeling of peace and security, but with a playful, free design expression. The concave shape of the design invites contemplation. You can retire to the armchair with a coffee or a good book, while the sides of the armchair direct the focus to the centre - an invitation to get together and talk," explains Simon Legald.
Narrow contours and comprehensive silhouette
The armchair is available with four-star oak frames in natural and black. A plastic seat shell provides stability, while the polyurethane foam padding is soft and adapts to the body. Covers made of fabric and leather in a wide range of colours round off the variety. The backrest is also available in a low or high version.
The armchair is available in many different versions to suit every need and taste. The comprehensive silhouette of Hyg radiates an almost organic purity. The voluminous form finds its counterweight in a narrow contour that provides a taut and refined visual expression.
