Durable plastic cantilever chair
The EVO-C - stands for the abbreviation "Evolutionary Chair". The all-plastic cantilever chair from Vitra combines a durable approach with a revolutionary idea: a free-swinging chair made entirely of plastic. Designer Jasper Morrison placed particular emphasis on durability: the minimalist chair is a timeless design object and, thanks to its mono-material, 100% recyclable. Whether at the dining table, in the office or in the living room - the EVO-C Chair by Vitra seems to merge with the person, and inspires unoccupied with its sculptural appearance.
A design journey through material, form and time
The Swiss studio Vitra was already working on a free-swinging chair more than 50 years before the EVO-C on a free-swinging chair made of plastic. At that time, design legend Verner Panton developed sketches made of wood and finally the Panton Chair, the first cantilever chair made of plastic. This icon started the triumphal procession of cantilever plastic chairs, which led to the development of the EVO-V 2020.
Simple design, sophisticated technology
The EVO-C solves the problems of stability and longevity that arise in manufacturing and relies on 100% recyclable polypropylene, which is injection moulded using the so-called internal gas pressure process- the result: a timeless, durable designer chair.
