Classic chair with fibreglass shell

The Eames Side Chair DSR ( D ining Height S ide Chair R od Base) is a true classic in the living area and has lost none of its charm since its launch in 1950. The organically shaped seat shell is made of fibreglass-reinforced polyester resin, while the frame of the DSR is made of filigree steel struts for a light appearance.

Back to the original design

At the beginning of the 90s, the production of fibreglass seat shells was converted to polypropylene. Now, Vitra due to improved production processes, the original design is being returned to and the seat shells are again being produced with fibreglass reinforcement in the classic colours.

Comfortable seat shell

Then as now the chair convinces with design and comfort in equal measure: The ergonomically shaped seat shell adapts to the body perfectly and the integrated "Shock Mounts" between shell and frame allow the chair to yield slightly so that it too offers the best comfort over a longer period of time.

The timeless design can be used in many different ways in the home ambience at the dining table or desk, as well as in public areas such as restaurants or hotels.
