Steel made of bent beech wood
The Aslak Chair by Artek impresses with its elegant, versatile design, with which it fits in public facilities such as hotels or restaurants as well as in your home. With its short, rounded armrests, it can easily be placed at desks or dining tables. The seat and backrest are comfortably curved so that you can sit comfortably for hours. Already designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara in 1946, the Aslak Chair was not manufactured until 1958, when technical progress made mass production possible. As a pioneer of modern Finnish design, Tapiovaara tried to combine plasticity with economical use of materials - a requirement that the Aslak chair fulfills perfectly.
The Aslak chair is made of molded oak veneer, while the legs and frame are made of solid beech.
