Bench Hven is part of the eponymous series from Skagerak. The furniture is characterized by its lightness and minimalist design. Designed by Swedish designer Anton Björsing, the Hven bench combines the two countries Sweden and Denmark in a creative way.
Just as Hven connects the two countries, the furniture pieces in the series of the same name represent an act of coming together. At the dining table the family meets, on the Hven bench people sit close together, eat together and tell each other about their day. This coming together is also reflected in the design of the bench. The robust, heavy oak wood has been finely and carefully crafted so that the slight curves and curved surfaces create a balanced composition of heaviness and lightness.
Hven (Swedish Ven) is a small, idyllic island between Sweden and Denmark in the Öresund. Originally, the island belonged to Denmark until it was annexed by Sweden over 350 years ago. Even today, the influences of the two countries, both of which can be seen from the shore of the island, can be seen and give the island, which is known for art and culture, its very special charm. The island between Denmark and Sweden is connected by ferries to the two countries and is a unique intercultural bridge.
