Sculptural elliptical armchair
The Corona Armchair by the designer for Poul M. Volther for Fredericia is an experimental interpretation of Danish design. Sculptural, eye-catching and original -. Corona Is a lesson in geometry. The consistent design, with elliptically shaped seat cushions that vary in size, has made the Corona armchair an international design icon. The seat cushions, made of different upholstery fabrics, are attached to a matte chrome-plated, supportive "backbone" of spring steel. Corona was originally called a "floating chair" because of its light, airy appearance. The chair is the result of years of experimentation by architect and designer Poul M. Volther.
Volther's masterpiece has been featured in several feature and fashion films and music videos. The Corona Ottman is the perfect complement to the armchair of the same name. It has a similar shape to the chair's seat cushions and can be ideally used as a small stool or footrest.
