Furnishing element for the wall

Clouds is a colourful, innovative and individual furnishing element for the home. The internationally renowned designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have created this innovative concept for the home in collaboration with Kvadrat : Clouds , an interlocking system of textile modules. Clouds can be mounted as an installation on a wall or on the ceiling. Clouds creates a unique, three-dimensional effect and evolves with each element added.

The invitingly irregular surface encourages you to create your own works of art and turns visions into reality. Because the appeal of Clouds ultimately lies in personal expression. The modules each consist of one element and are joined together with special rubber bands. Whether it is a simple design or a complex, decorative room demarcation or wall - creating your own work is quick and uncomplicated.

The modules can be easily assembled to suit individual styles and bring new ideas into the home, time and time again. It was the work on North Tiles, also a collaboration with Kvadrat , that inspired the two French designers to create the concept - a lighter version than the original. Clouds a lighter version than North Tiles for use at home.

"When I leaf through a design or architectural magazine from time to time, I often get a fright about all these cold rooms" , Ronan Bouroullec confesses.

He goes on to explain: "Therefore, when we were given the task by Kvadrat , we were keen to create a design solution that was soft and welcoming. Moreover, our goal was to find a solution that was so simple and sophisticated that it would not require expensive craftsmen, but could be hung by ordinary people without the need for polishing, adjustment or refinishing" .

Anders Byriel, Kvadrat s managing director, says soft textiles are making their way back into public buildings and private homes:

"For years the trend was to use fewer and fewer textiles. Curtains have disappeared as have carpets, even our chairs have woven seats and backs and all furnishings are glass, concrete, stone and wood, all of which are beautiful but also hard fabrics. But the trend is changing direction. More and more people are discovering that the soft material is not only soft to the touch, but also has an aesthetic beauty and great influence on the acoustics in our rooms. In recent years, we have come to realise how important the noise level is for our everyday well-being," explains Anders Byriel .

Every element of the Clouds is two-coloured. The front and back have one of the colours of the chosen variant.
