Plain and clear chair
The most striking aesthetic feature of the Vitra .03 chairs is their clear and simple form. At first glance, they appear inconspicuous and unspectacular - they reveal all their qualities only when they are used. Thus the .03 chairs are the epitome of the concept of "less is more", which the designer Maarten van Severen has already perfected with various products for Vitra.
When sitting, the great comfort of these inconspicuous chairs is evident: the flexible seat and back shell made of integral foam supports the body, while the leaf springs integrated into the backrest serve as reinforcement. The base frame is made of two different materials - while the front legs are made of aluminium profiles (powder-coated or chrome-plated), the rear legs are made of tubular steel.
The Vitra chair .03 is available in a stackable and non-stackable version. The difference lies in the width of the respective chairs and thus in the position of the hind legs. In the case of non-stackable chairs, the hind legs protrude from the bottom of the seat; in the case of stackable chairs, they are attached to the side so that up to 10 chairs can be stacked on top of each other without any problems.
