The new Myto cantilever chair swings lightly and delicately.
It’s a so-far unique cooperation between producers of furniture and synthetics and designers: Plank, BASF and Konstantin Grcic have faced the challenge to develop a stackable synthetics cantilever chair together. For all the stakeholders it has been an important step to reinterpret this icon of design history and to realise it in slightly more than a year. The free-flowing synthetic Ultradur® High Speed allowed the conception of the chair as monobloc die-casting, in the carrying frame construction of which the net-like seat and back area are creating the typical sense of sitting.
The innovative material is responsible for a range of positive properties of Mytho: The BASF Ultradur® High Speed synthetic is light-fast, cold and heat-resistant (-90ºC,+ 150ºC), 100% recyclable, it’s got a good chemicals-resistance and it has even been awarded the eco-efficiency seal.
Pushing the possibilities of the materials to the limit, Konstantin Grcic designed the elegant cantilever chair with a highly stable frame, smooth transitions and a seat with net-like openings. Myto can be used in the areas of living, objects and office and it is suitable for in- and outdoors.
