Armchair made of An Innovative Material
The Piuma armchair was designed by Piero Lissoni for Kartell and consists of an innovative carbon-reinforced plastic, which comes from the automotive and aircraft industries, but is not yet established in the furniture industry due to its elaborate processing.
Light as A Feather and Extremely Robust
The carbon-reinforced plastic is much lighter, but still so durable that the material thickness can be reduced to a maximum of two millimetres. The chair with armrests is light as a feather (Ital. piuma) and unbeatable with a weight of 2 kg. Despite its flyweight, the plastic chair is extremely robust, stable on the four-legged frame, and even weatherproof for terrace and balcony. The ergonomically shaped seat is extremely comfortable and the arms grow like two wings from the seat shell.
The Piuma armchair by Piero Lissoni for Kartell Piero Lissoni is made of thermoplastic polymer with carbon fibre reinforcement (carbon) and is available in various colours.
