Mid-century wooden chair with natural wickerwork
The CH23 Chair was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1950 and reflects the designer's passion for classic craftsmanship. To this day, the chair has lost none of its charm and, thanks to its simple design, finds its place in both classic and modern settings. Its unagitated silhouette is characterized by clean lines, but does not seem strict at all due to the rounded edges and partly curved contours.
Ergonomically shaped backrest
While the frame is made of solid wood, which is available in different variants, the seat is made of a natural wickerwork, which adds a natural touch to the overall appearance and also ensures a certain comfort.
Together with the ergonomically shaped backrest, the result is a comfortable chair that invites you to linger. Placed in groups at the dining table, at the desk or standing alone in the hallway, the CH23 Chair from Carl Hansen convinces with its outstanding quality and aesthetic design, which stylishly enhances any ambience.
New color palette in cooperation with Ilse Crawford
To celebrate Hans J. Wegner's more than 70 years of collaboration with Carl Hansen & Søn, the Danish label has teamed up with renowned London designer Ilse Crawford to create a new color palette for the first five chairs Wegner created for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1950.
The result is a multi-faceted reinterpretation of Wegner's CH22, CH 23, CH24, CH25 and CH26 chairs, whose timelessness is further emphasized by the new, rich colors. Alluding to the rugged beauty of the Nordic landscape, each color has a slightly transparent finish that allows the grain of the oak wood to shine through.
