Eero Saarinen wanted to clean up with his Tulip collection. With the "ugly, confusing, restless world" that existed under tables and chairs: The tangle of legs had always bothered the Finnish architect and designer. It took Saarinen five years of trial and error and modeling before he presented the finished form of his Pedestal Collection of one-legged furniture to the public.

Initially, only the world-famous Tulip Chair was named after the tulip, but today the accompanying table is also known as the "Tulip Table", because the collection of one-legged furniture from Knoll is inseparable. Designed in 1956, the Saarinen Tulip table with its clear, sculptural and organic form is a prime example of timelessness that can still be found in countless museums, hotels and galleries around the world today.

Knoll manufactures the Saarinen Tulip table with a cast aluminum frame with a Rilsan coating. The table top is made of laminate, available in different wood veneers and various marble versions.
